Step into the forefront of digital banking innovation as a UX/UI Designer with one of South Africa's leading banks. In this pivotal role, you will sculpt the micro-moments that define user interaction and satisfaction within our dynamic app environment.

Focused on crafting user flows, screens, and interactions, you will ensure that navigating through the app is not just intuitive but also visually captivating. While our Service Designers map out expansive user journeys across the digital ecosystem, your expertise will zoom in on enhancing specific user pathways and features, making each step and swipe a seamless and engaging experience.

Your mission will be to transform strategic visions into tangible user flows and interfaces— from wireframes and prototypes to polished high-fidelity UI designs that dictate the app's aesthetic. Collaborating closely with product teams, developers, and Service Designers, you will play a crucial role in aligning every interaction with user expectations and technical realities.

Tasks include:

• Design and prototype intuitive user experiences across key journeys and features of the app.
• Develop UI patterns and components as part of journey and feature design, ensuring alignment with broader design standards.
• Conduct research and usability testing, iterating on designs based on real-world insights.
• Collaborate with Service Designers, product teams, and technical/development teams to refine user flows and interfaces.
• Contribute new elements to the design system, working closely with the Design System Lead.
• Ensure consistency in visual design, accessibility, and interaction principles.

Requirements: 

• Willing to work on a 12 month contract with the possibility of renewal 
• Proficiency in Figma design tool.
• Experience designing user journeys, user-flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI components.
• Strong understanding of interaction design, usability, and accessibility principles.
• Ability to translate complex user needs into simple, effective UI solutions.
• Experience working in Agile product teams, participating in sprints and backlog refinement.
• Strong collaboration skills, working alongside Service Designers, product teams, and technical/development teams.
• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, design handoff tools like Zeplin or Figma Dev Mode) is a plus.
